Master of Applied Science
Amir Reza Peimani, Mechanical Engineering, Fall 2015-Fall 2017
Amir Reza obtained his B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering (Mechatronics) from Isfahan University of Technology (IUT), Iran, in 2015. He joined ACμTE in September 2015 as a Master’s student and worked on developing microfluidic devices for studying zebrafish rheotaxis and electrotaxis for drug screening applications. /p>
Amin Shams Khorrami, Mechanical Engineering, Fall 2015-Fall 2017
Amin obtained his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tabriz in 2013. He joined ACμTE in 2015 for conducting research on high throughput generation of multi-sized monodispersed microdroplets in a microfluidic device. His work led to introduction of a new oscilatory motion co-flow droplet generation microdevice.
Pouriya Bayat, Mechanical Engineering, Fall 2015-Fall 2017
Pouriya obtained his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Isfahan University of Technology in 2014. During his bachelor studies, he focused on Biofluid Mechanics. He joined ACμTE in 2015, and worked on the fundamentals of secondary Dean flow in curved microchannels. He also succesfully developed curved channel particle isolation and washing microdevices at ACμTE
Vikash Kumar, Mechanical Engineering, Fall 2014-Fall 2016
Vikash completed his B.Tech. (Hons.) in Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India. During bachelor project, he developed microneedles for drug delivery and nanoparticles for targeted gene delivery. At ACμTE, Vikash successfully developed inertio- and elasto-magnetic microfluidic devices for fractionation of multiple microparticles in Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids.
Ramtin Ardeshiri, Mechanical Engineering, Fall 2013-Fall 2015
Ramtin obtained his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (bioelectronic) from the University of Tehran in 2012. During his MASc studies at ACµTE, he successfully developed hybrid microfluidic devices for multi-directional manipulation of organisms such as Drosophila melanogaster and Caenorhabditis elegans on a chip, followed by their exposure to chemicals to investigate their organ and cellular responses accurately.
Jacob C. K. Leung, Mechanical Engineering, Fall 2013-Fall 2015
Jacob graduated with honors from Biomedical Engineering at Ryerson University in 2013. He previously assisted in conducting research on Electronic Health Records. His MASc research at ACμTE focused on developing lab-on-chips for toxicological studies on adult Drosophila Melanogaster organisms, using oviposition as a behavioral readout.
